This is a new article database for the college and university market, providing broad coverage of most academic disciplines, including social sciences, business and economics, arts and humanities, natural and physical sciences, etc. It includes articles from over 9,000 journals, magazines, and newspapers, of which nearly 7,000 are academic journals, and most are available in full-text formats.
This new database probably makes obsolete the same publisher's Expanded Academic ASAP, at least for W&L researchers.

New Statistical E-Books

In addition to the previously-announced Historical Statistics of the United States, Leyburn Library recently has purchased online access to three statistical compilations in "electronic book" form:


Each of these items is a standard in academic library collections and often useful for student research needs. We are very glad to be able to provide them in online form.

Primarily useful as a compilation of documents, including a searchable database of thousands of presidential documents, including signing statements, speeches, fireside chats, etc. Also other documents, statistical data, audio and video archive.

Non-partisan program funded by the Annenberg Foundation which monitors "the factual accuracy of what is said by major U.S. political players in the form of TV ads, debates, speeches, interviews, and news releases." Recent discussions include claims in the Allen/Webb Senate race in Virginia and efforts to capture Osama bin Laden.
