Country Reports on Terrorism, 2006

"U.S. law requires the Secretary of State to provide Congress, by April 30 of each year, a full and complete report on terrorism with regard to those countries and groups meeting criteria set forth in the legislation. This annual report is entitled Country Reports on Terrorism. Beginning with the report for 2004, it replaced the previously published Patterns of Global Terrorism. "

Iraqi Perceptions of the War: Public Opinion by City and Region

"Many Iraqis have divided or multiple loyalties, and the patterns of violence in one area may well differ from another. This becomes far clearer from the detailed results of a recent public opinion poll by ABC News, USA Today, the BBC, and ARD. This poll provided important insights into the overall trends in Iraqi “hearts and minds,” but it also provided an important window into just how much Iraqis differ by major city and province."

Terrorism Databases

The world's largest unclassified collection of information on terrorism, the Global Terrorism Database, recently was made available to the public.
Its availability prompted Leyburn Library to create an online compilation of terrorism databases, including the GTB, which contain the quantitative data some W&L students have used for research projects.
This new page is now available in the library Web site.

"Increased public support for the social safety net, signs of growing public concern about income inequality, and a diminished appetite for assertive national security policies have improved the political landscape for the Democrats as the 2008 presidential campaign gets underway." Based on a survey of over 2,000 adults.
