Free service provides access to genealogical information on millions of individuals from several countries, including the U.S. The information comes from census records, vital (birth, death, marriage) records, social security records, and other sources. Geographic coverage varies greatly. One recent addition which received a lot of publicity was Virginia marriage records from the Freedmen's Bureau.
