The sensory psychology of real products

I'd like each of you bloggers to find and describe the sensory attributes of stuff that consumers purchase. You can like it or hate it but you must explain it. For example: My ipod has a setting to equalize the volume output of all the music. That way, you aren't blasted by some while stretching to hear others. Sounds like a great idea...but...it also changes the way the music was recorded. Pianissimo is made louder than the conductor planned. Loud, punchy rock is moved to the average...regression toward the mean.
