First Editions on Display
Leyburn Library's Special Collections department has a fine collection of first editions of twentieth century Southern literature donated by Roger Harrison Mudd, WLU Class of 1950.
Mr. Mudd, in addition to a distinguished career as a television journalist, has been a serious collector of rare first editions by such authors as William Faulkner, Ellen Glasgow, Robert Penn Warren, and others.
An exhibit now on display in the Boatwright Room, adjacent to Special Collections on Leyburn's Lower Level 1, features the novels and short stories of Thomas Wolfe (1900-1938) and Erskine Caldwell (1903-1987).
The Boatwright Room is open from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday.
