New Exhibit on Robert E. Lee

To commemorate the 200th anniversary of Robert E. Lee's birth there is a new exhibit on display in the Boatwright Room, next to Special Collections, in Leyburn Library.

"Robert E. Lee in Documents and Photographs" includes the original document signed by President Gerald Ford restoring General Lee's citizenship posthumously in 1975. It also contains the earliest known photograph of Lee showing him in the role he cherished most, that of the family man. Several other important documents written by Lee are featured.

The Boatwright Room is open 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM Monday through Friday and the exhibit will remain in place for several months.
