The joy, the tears. Yes I am quite depressed that Francisco Peter, Peter, Jit and Serena are graduating. What fun people to work with, what incredible talent and charm (really I am not making this up). I would, however, be far more depressed if they weren't graduating. This is just they way it is in my business. Hire young intelligent people, pay student wages, let them be themselves and teach them a few things about fixing computers, or not, and then watch them go on a become successful professionals. Loss is part of my business so I really don't have a lot to complain about here do I? Still I will miss them, like a head penguin that has seen part of his flock devoured by Orcas, I know they will be replaced, but I will miss them.
In the spirit of Star Wars, which character are you?

All helpdesk blogi should have the Chronicles at the first link. I apologize to those who will remain unnamed for this error, and I ask that I be given my chair back.

I drink my coffee and look out over the placid waters of Lake Min to see the cool fog shrouded mountains in the distance. Dan is playing "Salty Dog" on our rubber band harp as I drift into a gentle yellow slumber. The phone rings merrily to let me know that paper is needed in a lab, that someone cannot find their tree or server, or that an important document has accidentally deleted itself. I face all these cries for help with love and serenity in my heart, because I know, just as you know, that the term ends Monday, and after that, it is all Than's problem.
While we're on the topic of outrageous videos and targeting violent video games toward youths, has anyone seen the new Hardees ad?
Its good to know Paris isn't taking herself too seriously. She's becoming such a legitamte actress! And watching it really makes me want to buy a burger.

Seriously, has anyone been to the Hardees in town recently? I wish they had people that look half as good as Paris Hilton. Every time I go there, I get served by the 400 pound guy with a mullet.
This is classic...
Wait for it to download and then just click play
(Actually, if you don't see anything, rightclick on the empty space right below this....)
Think there is too much violence in current video games?
Check out the trailer for Quake 4...not for the faint of heart...
WARNING! WARNING! WARNING!

Yes indeed, it is called ransom-ware...everyone beware
Sitting in the help desk, saving the world (or campus) one computer at a time. There is no satisfaction quite so sweet as the kind that comes from keeping someone on the phone for 20 minutes to solve their problem- only to realize after you hang up that you have no idea what you did to fix that problem. It's like God looks down upon both the poor souls on either end of the phone line and says "Thou shall work properly Computer".
On another interesting note, Elham, Kari, and now Jit are mathematically proving the existence of love across the hallway. Ah Mondays...
We all know that the purpose of this blog is to "create a virutal family". Now you may all be wondering what exactly virutal means, so here is what it means. Our great overseer has combined the words "virtual" and "viral" to make this word "virutal". Why exactly he choose those words are yet to be found out... Now the honorable Mr. Quackenbush, here after referred to as "The Quack", "The Quackdaddy", or simply as "Quackenbush", points out on May 23, 2005 that "This is a useless waste of time". Perhaps the-one-who-must-not-be-named anticipated such comments.....
There is no futher information availlable as of yet....
The purpose of this blog is bring the Help Desk community closer together. Current employees, former staff, and Help Desk technicians of the future will find here the glue of common experience and the joys of diverse adventure that create a virutal family.
