What do you think about the role of women in the novel 'A Small Town Called Hibiscus'? Specifically with regards to the portrail of women in 'Hsiao Hsiao'.

Are there anything in common between the women in both stories? If yes, examine the roles of women in relationship to their oppressors in both.
