Grab your hunting rifles and funny round hats, Safari is here! We have arranged for a trial of this through Proquest. Point your all-terrain vehicles in this direction:

I have to warn you guys, this thing is expensive-upwards of 15K PER YEAR. We are not even sure at this point that we can afford it, but we'd still like to know what you think of it.
The trial should last until about the 20th of October...at that point, hunting season is officially over.
Announcing (trumpet blast) the creation of Lib4compsci, a blog on all things library-ish that pertain to the math department. Here I'll announce new acquisitions (databases, journals, other noteworthy stuff), new services, and other stuff that might help you in teaching and research.
From what I'm hearing, you guys are pretty comfortable with blogging and RSS, so I'm not going to go into what a blog is or how you can subscribe to the RSS feed (yup, there is one). It's there if you want to take advantage of it.
Right now, you are all on a notification list and will receive an email "tickler" every time I update the blog. If you like, I can take you off this list, just leave a comment or send me an email. Don't worry, I'm not planning on making new posts every day, or even every week-just when there's something noteworthy to say.
Proquest is now offering an extensive collection of technical books as part of their Safari ebook package. Their list of titles is pretty impressive, including, for example, almost all the O'Reilly Press books. I'm thinking this could be a great resource for you guys and your students, and am working with John Tombarge on getting us a trial. Stay tuned for more...
