If you haven't already watched Frida, watch it for this class. It's a fantastic movie and also a great way to learn a little more about Mexican culture through one it's most revolutionary female figures. To be sure, this is a film partly about art (an artist and her art), but does that make it also an art film? I can't decide. It's not an important question, but one I ask myself when I have nothing more pressing to think about.
