In the spirit of Thanksgiving, I found a site with the literal account of the first Thanksgiving. If you click around on some of the links, you can also find what the pilgrims actually had available to eat (and actually probably did eat) as opposed to some of the traditional foods we associate with Thanksgiving. Further, I found out that FDR changed the actual day from the last Thursday in November to the fourth, in order to preserve a sufficient amount of time between it and Christmas.
